MediaTek Q3 net profit up almost 25% sequentially

MediaTek Inc. (聯發科), Taiwan's largest integrated circuit designer, said Friday that its net profit in the third quarter was almost 25 percent higher than a quarter earlier because of peak season effects and a weaker Taiwan dollar.
