Taiwan shares extend losses in limited downturn

Shares in Taiwan closed lower Thursday, extending losses from a day earlier, but bargain hunting emerged during the session, encouraged by a technical rebound in the Shanghai and Shenzhen markets that helped the local main board to partly recover from its earlier downturn, dealers said.
