Taiwan's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 6.51 percent from a year earlier in the first quarter of this year, beating an earlier forecast of 5.92 percent made in February, largely due to a stronger than expected export performance, the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS) said Tuesday.
