Taiwanese gamer in Hearthstone Summer Championship in L.A.

Los Angeles, Oct. 8 (CNA) Taiwanese gamer Chen Wei-lin (陳威霖) is set to compete in The Hearthstone Championship Tour (HCT) Summer Championship Oct. 13-15 at the Blizzard Arena Los Angeles, California.

Chen, a National Taiwan University graduate of economics, is a full-time professional gamer and member of the eSports group Flash Wolves who competes in the name of "Tom60229."

He has won various global gaming championships in recent years and had reached the 13-16th place in the 2014 Hearthstone World Championship.

The summer championship in Los Angeles is the last stop of the 2017 Hearthstone Championship Tour (HCT) which will see 16 players from around the world compete for a share of $250,000 in prize money and a seat at the Hearthstone World Championship in early 2018.

Hearthstone is an online collectible card video game that was released in 2014 and has been building on the existing elements of the Warcraft series.
