Taipei, April 24 (CNA) A passing weather front is expected to bring showers and thunderstorms across most of Taiwan from Thursday to Saturday, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).
On Thursday, central, northern and eastern Taiwan as well as the outlying Matsu and Kinmen islands can expect scattered showers and thunderstorms, the CWA said. In the south, partly cloudy to sunny skies are likely, with sporadic afternoon thundershowers.
Meanwhile, daytime temperatures will hover around 27-29 degrees Celsius in northern and eastern Taiwan on Thursday, and 32-34 degrees elsewhere in the country, the CWA said.
From Thursday night, however, as northeasterly winds strengthen, the weather will turn cooler in northern and northeastern Taiwan, with the mercury falling to 21-22 degrees, while other areas of the country can expect lows of 24-25 degrees, according to the CWA forecast.
It warned of poor visibility Thursday in central and northern Taiwan, as well as in Kinmen and Matsu, due to fog and low clouds. Air travelers are advised to to stay abreast of updates and track their flights in real time, the weather agency said Thursday.

On Friday and Saturday, under the influence of the northeasterly winds and a cloud system, the weather in northern, northeastern and eastern Taiwan will be cool, while sporadic showers and thunderstorms can be expected across the country, the CWA said.
The northeasterly winds will begin to weaken on Sunday, and the mercury in the north, northeast and east will rebound, the CWA said.
Occasional showers will be seen in northern Taiwan, the eastern half of the country, and the Hengchun Peninsula in the south, while the weather in the rest of the country will be cloudy, the weather agency said.
On Monday next week, another weather front will set in, as northeasterly winds strengthen again, bringing sporadic showers and thunderstorms across Taiwan, the CWA said.
