CPC faces hefty fine for pollution from its Linyuan complex

Kaohsiung, Oct. 20 (CNA) State-run oil refiner CPC Corp. Taiwan will be fined NT$5 million (US$174,000) for air pollution caused by unusually dense smoke from a flare at its petrochemical complex in Kaohsiung on Tuesday morning, a city official said.
