Taipei, July 25 (CNA) One customer who won the special uniform invoice lottery prize of NT$10 million (US$329,380) in the May-June period did so by spending just NT$20 on a bottle of water, according to FamilyMart convenience store chain (全家便利商店).
The announcement made by FamilyMart came after the Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced the winning May-June uniform invoice lottery numbers following a draw on Tuesday. The winning number for the special prize is 99768846.
FamilyMart said that two of the uniform invoices it issued during the two month period won the special prize. One of the two winners purchased a bottle of water priced NT$20 at its Fuxiang store in the Zhonghe District of New Taipei.
The other winning uniform invoice was issued at its Fushun store, also located in Zhonghe, to a customer who bought noodles and tea eggs for NT$148, FamilyMart said.
Meanwhile, 7-Eleven (統一超商), the largest convenience store chain in Taiwan, said that two of its uniform invoices also won the special prize.
One of the two was issued at its Jimei store in Sanchung District in New Taipei, on a purchase of NT$76, 7-Eleven said.
The other was issued by its Ankuan store in the Sammin District of Kaohsiung to a customer who spent NT$35, 7-Eleven added.
The MOF announced the winning number for the grand prize of NT$2 million as 83660478, while the winning numbers for the first prize of NT$200,000 were 70628612, 87596250 and 97294175.
According to FamilyMart, one of the two uniform invoices winning the NT$2 million grand prize was issued by its Dongfang store in Taipei for the purchase of two bottles of carbonated water worth NT$87 and the other for six packs of chewing gum at its Longshan store in Hsinchu for NT$57.
For 7-Eleven, one uniform invoice was issued by an outlet in the Fengshan District of Kaohsiung, winning the grand prize for a purchase costing NT$28.
The MOF said that the deadline to claim the prizes is Nov. 6.
