Taipei, June 3 (CNA) The Foxconn Technology Group has teamed up with the developer of the Firefox web browser in a bid to create a stronger presence in the operating system (OS) battlefield, executives from both companies said Monday.

The world's largest contract electronics maker, also known as the Hon Hai Group, became the sixth original equipment manufacturer to form a global partnership with Firefox developer Mozilla Corp., the software company said.

Gong Li, president of Mozilla's Asia operations and chief executive officer of Mozilla Taiwan, said at a press conference that the two companies share the same vision of providing a better user experience.

Young Liu, general manager of Foxconn's Innovation Digital System Business Group, echoed Gong's views.

"The integration of software and hardware development will offer greater benefits to our customers and consumers," he said.
