TSMC's investment in a new wafer plant in Kikuyo in Japan's Kumamoto Prefecture is expected to attract an estimated 4.3 trillion Japanese yen (US$29.15 billion or NT$940 billion) in investments by companies from Taiwan's semiconductor supply chain to the country over the next 10 years, a Japanese economics official said Thursday in Taipei.
