Taipei, Sept. 2 (CNA) Taiwan's manufacturing activity remained in contraction mode for the fourth consecutive month in August as escalating trade tensions between the United States and China continued to undermine confidence among Taiwanese manufacturers, according to the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER) Monday.
