How much garbage is in Taiwan’s waters?

10/07 10:00

Taiwan is surrounded by water but the widespread use of plastic, styrofoam and other material and improper handling of refuse have created garbage along the coastline and in the sea. But how much garbage is in Taiwan’s coastal waters and how bad is the situation? The Taiwanese NGO - Kuroshio Ocean Education Foundation - with the help of academics who are ocean researchers, set out on a boat and a 12-day journey around the island and outlying islands to conduct Taiwan’s first-ever investigation about garbage at sea. Watch this video to see what they have found.
