Taipei, Aug. 27 (CNA) A Taichung police officer was sentenced Wednesday to three months in prison, suspended for two years, for publishing offensive posts on his Facebook page that included cursing activists taking part in a massive protest rally between March and April against Taiwan's trade-in-services agreement with China.

The Taichung District Court handed down the sentence to Su Sen-hui for making threats against the public.

The suspended sentence option was given on the condition that Su pay NT$20,000 (US$669) into the national coffers. The ruling can be appealed.

According to the court ruling, the 33 year-old made the posts using offensive language, swearing at the anti-service trade pact protesters.

Su had also threatened on his Facebook posts that he would travel to the Legislative Yuan in Taipei to "arrest female mobs" and used words that could be construed as sexual harassment.
