TransAsia flight requests two go-arounds before crash: CAA
Taipei, July 24 (CNA) TransAsia Airways flight GE222, which crashed in the outlying county of Penghu Wednesday, asked for two go-arounds before the accident took place, the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) said Thursday.
As the ATR 72 turboprop was preparing to land at Magong Airport in heavy rain at around 7 p.m., it was forced to pull up because of poor visibility, according to the CAA.
According to TransAsia, 48 of the 58 people aboard the flight were killed. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
