Pattaya, Thailand, Feb. 24 (CNA) Top-ranked female golfer Yani Tseng of Taiwan finished tied for third at the Honda LPGA Thailand 2013 with 10-under 278, two strokes behind the winner Inbee Park of South Korea.
Tseng, who won the Thailand Open in 2011 and 2012, rose from 24th place after the third round Saturday to tie with three other players -- South Korean So Yeon Ryu, American Stacy Lewis, and Spaniard Beatriz Recari at the event.
During Sunday's bogey-free final round, an eagle on the first hole and birdies on holes 2, 7, 8, 10,12, 15 and 18 gave Tseng a nine-under 63 finish.
Thai teenager Ariya Jutanugarn lost the chance to win the tournament when she carded three bogeys on the 18th. She wrapped up the match in second place, one stroke behind Park, who ended at 12-under 276.
Tseng said she was satisfied with her performance and had fun at the golf course.
Although she had made some mistakes over last three days, she also made improvements during the final round after receiving some advice from her coach, she said.
The tournament carried a total purse of US$1.5 million.
Tseng, who finished second at the season-opening ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open on Feb. 17, will compete in the HSBC Women's Champions in Singapore on Thursday.
