Los Angeles, June 5 (CNA) The Athletics promoted their No. 4 prospect, Lin Wei-en (林維恩), to Triple-A on Friday, making the 20-year-old the youngest Taiwanese player to reach that level.

The Athletics assigned the Taiwanese left-hander to their Triple-A affiliate, the Las Vegas Aviators, one day after he was named the Texas League's Pitcher of the Month for May.

Lin began his professional career in 2025 and advanced from Low-A to High-A and then Double-A in a single season.

This year, Lin began the season in Double-A and has pitched 51 1/3 innings over 10 appearances, going 3-1 with 53 strikeouts and a 1.93 earned run average.

At 20 years and 7 months old, Lin broke the record held by Lin Yu-min (林昱珉) as the youngest Taiwanese player to reach Triple-A. The Arizona Diamondbacks promoted Lin Yu-min to the club's Triple-A affiliate in 2024 when he was 21 years and 2 months old.

Earlier this season, Lin Wei-en was selected to be on the Top 100 prospect lists compiled by Baseball America and MLB Pipeline. Baseball America ranked him No. 93, while MLB Pipeline placed him at No. 91.

Following the promotion, Lin became the third Taiwanese pitcher currently playing in Triple-A, joining Athletics prospect Zhuang Chen Zhong-ao (莊陳仲敖) and Diamondbacks prospect Lin Yu-min.
