Crowds turn out for opening of new Taipei MRT station

Hundreds of people turned out Sunday for the opening of Guangci/Fengtian Temple Station, the new terminus at the southeastern end of Taipei Metro’s Red Line. The new station extends the Red Line 1.4 kilometers east from Xiangshan, giving residents in eastern Xinyi District a direct MRT link to central Taipei after nearly a decade of construction.
