KMT protests outside Taipei prosecutors office over recall probe

Taiwan’s main opposition Kuomintang (KMT) held a protest outside the Taipei District Prosecutors Office on Thursday evening, criticizing prosecutors for raiding several of its offices amid allegations of improper recall petitions against ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) lawmakers. \n\nPremier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) responded to the protest -- where some protesters held signs accusing the DPP government of "political persecution" -- on Friday morning, saying citizens “must abide by the law” when staging demonstrations, while offering “no comment” on Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an’s (蔣萬安) call for the Legislature to dismiss the Cabinet.
