Taipei, Oct. 13 (CNA) A pavilion organized by the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) opened Tuesday at the 2026 Taiwan Technology × Culture Expo (TTXC) in Kaohsiung, showcasing cultural technologies including generative artificial intelligence (AI)-powered audiovisual art, photorealistic 3D modeling and smart spaces.

The exhibits, developed in collaboration with the Institute for Information Industry, demonstrate how advanced technologies can be applied to artistic creation, cultural preservation, content presentation and spatial design, ITRI said in a news release.

Headquartered in Hsinchu County, ITRI is one of Taiwan's leading applied technology research institutes.

Chen Hui-chuan (陳慧娟), head of ITRI's Service Systems Technology Center, said cultural technology goes beyond incorporating new technologies into artistic performances. It also uses digital tools to reinterpret cultural content and create new forms of content, audience experiences and business models, according to the release.

The pavilion is open to the public through Friday.

The TTXC runs from Oct. 9-26 at Kaohsiung's Pier-2 Art Center under the theme "All In AI -- AI Dimension: the Symbiotic Era."

According to the expo's official website, the event features six major exhibitions, 25 international forums and more than 100 industry events, including business matchmaking and networking activities.

Meanwhile, the Kaohsiung Film Festival will present XR Dreamland at Pier-2 Art Center from Oct. 9-26. Organizers describe it as Asia's largest immersive film festival.
