THSRC reduced its schedule to three trains per hour in each direction between Nangang and Kaohsiung's Zuoying Station from 6 a.m. Wednesday due to the expected impact of Tropical Storm Fung-Wong.
Following the change, social media users posted images of long passenger lines, with one social media user saying they waited an hour to board.
After reassessing weather conditions and passenger flows, THSRC said it decided to open the four additional train services.
Tropical Storm Fung-Wong is forecast to make landfall in southern Taiwan on Wednesday evening before moving back out to sea off Taitung County, according to the Central Weather Administration.
