Taipei, Oct. 8 (CNA) A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Hualien County in eastern Taiwan at 7:52 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).
The epicenter of the temblor was located in the county's Ji'an Township, about 6.9 kilometers west of Hualien County Hall, at a depth of 6.1 km, CWA data showed.
There were no immediate reports of damage.
The earthquake's intensity, which gauges the actual effects of a temblor, was highest in parts of Hualien County, where it measured 4 on Taiwan's seven-tier intensity scale.
