
Taipei, July 5 (CNA) The Central Weather Administration (CWA) issued a sea warning for Tropical Storm Danas at 8:30 a.m. Saturday as it continues to move toward the Taiwan Strait.
The storm took shape at 2 a.m. near the Pratas Islands in the South China Sea, having intensified from a tropical depression, the administration said.
As of 8 a.m., Danas was located 410 kilometers west-southwest of Cape Eluanbi, Taiwan's southernmost tip, and was moving north-northeast at 8 kilometers per hour, CWA data showed.
It was carrying maximum sustained winds near its center of 65 kph, and gusts of up to 90 kph, according to the CWA.
