Taipei, June 1 (CNA) Taiwan's Central Weather Administration (CWA) warned of localized heavy rain in central and southern Taiwan starting Sunday night due to moisture carried by southwesterly winds.
CWA forecaster Chen Pei-an (陳姵安) told CNA that the rainfall may continue into Monday.
A weather front is also expected to arrive on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing showers across Taiwan and localized heavy downpours in western Taiwan, Chen said.

The chance of heavy precipitation will increase in western Taiwan and mountain areas on Tuesday, the meteorologist added.
Brief showers are forecast in northern and northeastern Taiwan on Wednesday, while western Taiwan should continue to watch for heavy downpours, Chen said.

On Thursday, the front is expected to move to the Bashi Channel, but central and southern Taiwan may still see scattered showers or thunderstorms.
From Friday through Sunday, winds will bring more moisture, producing brief showers in southern and eastern Taiwan and localized afternoon thunderstorms elsewhere, according to Chen.
