Taipei, June 2 (CNA) A NT$21 oolong milk tea purchase at a FamilyMart in Daya District, Taichung, was the lowest amount spent to win the NT$10 million (US$318,000) special prize in Taiwan's March-April uniform invoice lottery, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) said Tuesday.
According to the ministry, a total of 20 receipts matched the winning number 19531471 for the NT$10 million special prize, according to the ministry. Among them, seven winning receipts involved spending less than NT$100.
Other low-value winning receipts included a NT$39 purchase at a FamilyMart in Taichung's Nantun District, a NT$40 drink at a Hi-Life in Taichung's Wuqi District, and a NT$45 beverage at a 7-Eleven in Taoyuan's Dayuan District.
A NT$65 beef and egg burger sold at a MOS Burger in Tamsui District, New Taipei, also won the NT$10 million prize.
The ministry said that winners can claim their prizes from June 6 to Sept. 7.
A total of 119 receipts won the special, grand, first-prize and cloud-exclusive lottery categories this round, with total prize payouts reaching NT$270 million, the ministry said.
The uniform invoice lottery is held every two months and designed to encourage consumers to request receipts and help prevent tax evasion.
