Taiex falls below 16,800, fueled in part by overselling by foreign investors

Shares in Taiwan plunged by 294.26 points to 16,762 on turnover of NT$346.668 billion (US$11.069 billion) Thursday, in part due to NT$38.724 billion of net selling by foreign institutional investors.
