Taiwan peak electricity use hits record high, exceeding 40GW

Peak electricity consumption in Taiwan reached 40.301 million kilowatts (GW) at 2:23 p.m. Wednesday, passing 40 million kilowatts for the first time due to scorching temperatures, according to Taiwan Power Co. (Taipower).
