Meeting between leaders of Taiwan, China begins

The historical cross-Taiwan Strait leadership meeting between President Ma Ying-jeou (馬英九) and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping (習近平) has begun and is expected to establish a mechanism for future leadership meetings between the two sides.
