Taipei, April 14 (CNA) New Zealand cross-over soprano HayleyWestenra will be a guest performer at two concerts in Taipei nextmonth alongside the headliner Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, theorganizers said Wednesday.
The 24-year-old pop and classical singer, who will be returningto Taiwan for the third time in her career, is scheduled to be one ofthe two guest performers at Bocelli's Taipei concerts on May 17 and18.
She gave two concerts in Taiwan last year after her internationaldebut album "Pure" became a hit in countries and regions such as theUK, Australia and Hong Kong.
For the first time, local audiences will see the star duo on thesame stage. Westenra will sing "Amazing Grace," one of her best-lovedsongs that she sang at the 2009 Kaohsiung World Games.
Westenra and Bocelli have collaborated on one of Westenra'salbums and live performances.
The Management of New Arts, which is organizing the Taipeiconcerts, said that also for the first time, Taiwan audiences will betreated to a Bocelli performance in which he will sing and play thepiano himself.
Italian soprano Elena Rossi will be the other guest performer inthe classical part of the program.
