Kenting sees high winds, waves as Typhoon Podul nears

Before Typhoon Podul made landfall in Taitung County at 1 p.m., Pingtung was already feeling its impact, with gusts of 50–61 km/h recorded in Kenting shortly after noon. Waves topping two meters were reported at Kenting Beach, which authorities had closed and cleared of visitors since yesterday.
