Taiwan's Huang Hsiao-wen advances to finals of World Boxing Championships

Taipei, Sept. 13 (CNA) Taiwanese Olympic medalist Huang Hsiao-wen (黃筱雯) scored a 5-0 victory against South Korean Im Aeji in the semifinals of the women's 54-kilogram competition at the 2025 World Boxing Championships in England on Saturday.

With that win, Huang has advanced to the finals, where she will square off against Yoseline Perez of the United States at noon in Liverpool on Sunday.

Huang won a bronze medal in the flyweight competition at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

World Boxing is the new international body for Olympic-style boxing, provisionally recognized by the International Olympic Committee.

The 2025 World Boxing Championships are the inaugural edition under the new body, with more than 540 athletes from 66 national federations competing.
