Taipei, Jan. 19 (CNA) A magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan at 7:48 a.m. Monday, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).
The epicenter of the temblor was located in Namaxia District, Kaohsiung, about 94.1 kilometers northeast of Kaohsiung City Hall, at a depth of 5 kilometers, CWA data showed.
The earthquake's intensity, which gauges the actual effects of a temblor, was highest in Kaohsiung, Chiayi County and Nantou County, where it measured 3 on Taiwan's seven-tier intensity scale, the CWA said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
