Taipei, Jan. 16 (CNA) A survey released on Friday by job bank 1111 revealed that the top university whose graduates are most favored by employers in 2026 is National Taiwan University (NTU).

After NTU, the other top nine universities are National Cheng Kung University, National Taipei University of Technology, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, National Tsing Hua University, National Chengchi University, Tamkang University (TKU), National Central University, and Fu Jen Catholic University.

The job bank said NTU returned to the top of the rankings this year because of its well-rounded academic system and graduates' strong professional knowledge and thinking skills, especially their ability to analyze and solve problems, which employers see as key strengths.

Although ranked fourth, 1111 praised NYCU for its strong science and engineering programs and the high number of alumni who are top executives at major tech companies, including Acer, TSMC, MediaTek, and Asustek Computer.

Meanwhile, TKU was the highest-performing private institution, with the job bank highlighting its focus on artificial intelligence and sustainability, interdisciplinary teaching, and social engagement, as well as its graduates' strong presence across many industries.

The latest survey also found that as many as 53 percent of companies prefer to hire fresh graduates with part-time experience, reflecting employers' growing emphasis on recruits' workplace readiness and emotional maturity.

1111 spokeswoman Huang Jo-wei (黃若薇) said companies generally believe students who work while in school tend to have strong self-management skills and a proactive learning attitude, making them better able to quickly understand workplace rules, grasp job requirements, and integrate into teams.

Conducted from Aug. 28 to Oct. 15, 2025, the survey collected 2,153 valid samples from employers with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.97 percentage points.
