Taipei, Nov. 14 (CNA) Temperatures could dip to 14 degrees Celsius early next Wednesday in areas north of central Taiwan, as well as in Yilan and Hualien counties in the east.
CWA forecaster Huang En-hung (黃恩鴻) told CNA Friday that "noticeable cooling" was expected across Taiwan on Wednesday, with lows of between 16 and 17 degrees in southern Taiwan and Taitung County in the southeast.
Warmer conditions, however, are expected over this weekend, Huang said, with daytime highs of 26 to 27 degrees in northern Taiwan, Yilan and Hualien, and 28 to 30 degrees in central and southern Taiwan and Taitung.
On Saturday, sporadic brief showers are expected in eastern Taiwan, while other parts of the island will see mostly cloudy and slightly warm conditions, Huang said.
Moisture will increase slightly on Sunday, bringing scattered rain to Greater Taipei, the Keelung North Coast, eastern Taiwan, and the Hengchun Peninsula in the south, he added.
It will not be until Monday, when a cold front moves south, that the mercury will drop, Huang said, adding that the cooling will be most noticeable on Tuesday and Wednesday.
