Taipei, Oct. 10 (CNA) The Central Weather Administration (CWA) issued a tsunami alert on Friday after a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck the southern Philippine island of Mindanao at 9:44 a.m.
The agency said it received a notice from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, which assessed that the quake could pose a tsunami threat to the Pacific region.
The CWA said it will closely monitor the situation and provide updates as new information becomes available.
