A print of The Great Wave off Kanagawa from Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji -- the iconic 1831 Ukiyo-e woodblock print by Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai -- is displayed alongside a Japanese ¥1,000 banknote at the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum in Chiayi County on Thursday. The artwork, which was added to the new banknote design in 2024, is part of the museum's "The Beauty of the Floating World in Edo" exhibition running from May 20 to June 29. CNA photo May 29, 2025
