Not to be outshone by Taiwanese mangoes, exports of which have doubled so far this year, local pineapples have seen sales in the overseas market increase by nearly 200 percent. Given that only 5 percent of the pineapples are being exported, the Council of Agriculture is planning on helping farmers sell more of the fruit to China -- the major market -- via cross-border e-commerce.
