Taiwan shares end up but gains capped ahead of 8,700 points

Shares in Taiwan ended higher Friday, but the gains were partly eroded by strong technical resistance, and the bourse closed shy of 8,700 points amid lingering worry over a slowdown of the domestic economy, dealers said.
