Taipei, July 30 (CNA) A prosecutor and a coroner in Nantou County issued a death certificate Monday to the family of actor Ma Ju-feng (馬如風) who was found dead a day earlier in the bathroom of a B&B he was staying in.

After examining Ma's body, the two determined that the 63-year-old renowned actor had died of natural causes that might have been related to heart failure.

Prosecutor Shih Kuang-che (石光哲) and the coroner at the Nantou District Prosecutors Office were accompanied by Ma's wife, who told the press her husband had drunk "a bit of alcohol" while celebrating a gathering with friends and relatives Saturday evening.

"He had asthma, but no record of myocardial infarction," she noted.

Ma was visiting his younger brother on a vacation, telling her over the phone on Saturday that he was enjoying the fresh air very much in the rural area, to which she replied: "Then stay a few more days if you like fresh air."

"I still cannot accept the fact that he has gone so suddenly," she said.

After getting the death certificate, Ma's family members took his body back to their home in Keelung for a funeral service.

Born in 1955, Ma first appeared on television in 1980 and won a Golden Bell Award for newcomer with most potential.

Ma started acting at the age of 25 and starred in more than 40 television series in a career that spanned 38 years.
