Taipei, Sept. 27 (CNA) A sea warning for Typhoon Dujuan was issued Sunday morning by the Central Weather Bureau, which said a land warning is expected at 8: 30 p.m. at the earliest.

If Dujuan continues its current path, it may make landfall in eastern Taiwan's Yilan or Hualien County Monday afternoon, the bureau forecast.

The typhoon was located 620 kilometers east-southeast of Hualien moving at 14 km per hour in a west northwesterly direction, according to the bureau.

With a radius of 200 kilometers, the storm's maximum sustained winds were estimated at 45 meters per second, , the bureau's data showed.

As the storm continued to gain strength and harder rains were set to fall later in the day, the bureau warned of
rougue waves in coastal areas in northern, eastern Taiwan and in waters near the Hengchun Peninsula and Matsu and Green islands.

Under Dujuan's influence, the chances for moon watching in northern and eastern Taiwan are slim, the bureau said.

It urged the public to avoid water activities over the Sept. 26-28 Mid-Autum Festival holiday and stay on high alert against increasing tides under the influence of Dujuan.
