Taipei, June 4 (CNA) The Industrial Development Bureau (IDB) saidFriday it will collaborate with Taiwanese firms to promote sales ofelectric scooters at an event to mark its 40th anniversary Saturday.
The bureau and three motorcycle manufacturers will jointlyorganize a promotional activity on the sidelines of the anniversarycelebrations at Taipei County Civic Square to showcase the latestelectric motorcycles and will stage a scooter parade.
The three companies -- E-Ton Power, Kwang Yang Motor and ChinaMotor Corporation which have been recognized for their application ofelectric motorcycle technology -- will offer prizes of three scootersin a lucky draw.
The scooters are valued at between NT$50, 000 (US$1,600) toNT$60,000 each, the bureau said.
The anniversary celebrations will include an exhibition of a widerange of Taiwan-made items such as socks and towels to displayTaiwan's industrial strength, the bureau said.
