Taipei, Oct. 22 (CNA) A total of 151 Taiwanese athletes are competing for medals across 16 sports at the 3rd Asian Youth Games that opened on Wednesday in Bahrain.

The delegation attended the opening ceremony under the Chinese Taipei flag, led by flag bearer Lin Li-wei (林立瑋), a volleyball player, and taekwondo athlete Wang Chieh-ling (王婕菱).

Lin, 16, was a member of the team that finished third at the 2024 FIVB Volleyball Boys' Under-17 World Championship in Bulgaria, marking the country's best-ever result.
