Taipei, Aug. 24 (CNA) Taiwanese tennis player Chan Hao-ching (詹皓晴) and her Chinese partner Jiang Xinyu (蔣欣玗) fell short of claiming their first title as a doubles duo, losing the Tennis in the Land final in straight sets.

In a match between the top two seeds of the tournament in Cleveland, Ohio, the No. 2 cross-Taiwan Strait duo was defeated by No. 1 seeds Anna Danilina (Kazakhstan) and Aleksandra Krunic (Serbia) 7-6 (3), 6-4 in 1 hour 35 minutes.

The win marked Danilina's 11th career WTA (Women's Tennis Association) doubles title and Krunic's eighth -- and their first as a pair.

The runner-up finish, meanwhile, was the best performance for the team of Chan and Jiang, who started to pair up this summer at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships.
