Heat alert issued for Taipei, New Taipei, 4 other counties

In the wake of a strong Pacific high-pressure system, scorching weather is expected to continue in Taiwan with a heat alert in effect for the cities of Taipei and New Taipei and four counties on Tuesday as daytime temperatures are expected to top 36 degrees Celsius, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
