Taipei, April 28 (CNA) Taiwanese contestants took home five gold medals, five silvers and one bronze medal last weekend at Hungary's Moson Model Show (MMS), one of the world's leading competitions for creative and scale models.
The competition, known as the MMS, took place Saturday and Sunday in the town of Mosonmagyaróvár, and drew nearly 2,000 entries by 800 competitors from 42 countries.
Of Taiwan's contestants, Wang Cheng-I (王丞邑) won gold in a model ship category for his scale reproduction of a Tone-class cruiser -- a type of warship used by the Japanese Imperial Navy during World War II -- that took seven years to complete.
Meanwhile, Chen Tse-jen (陳則仁) won medals for all three of his entries in the contest, taking home gold medals in the science-fiction bust and historical figure categories and a silver in the science-fiction figure category.

Fan Cheng-pin (樊成彬), who led the delegation, said Taiwan's contestants had met with and learned from many of the world's top model builders at the event, which will help them raise the quality of their craftsmanship in future competitions.
