Taipei, Sept. 28 (CNA) Eslite Spectrum opened its largest branch in Asia on Thursday at the Yes!Life (Yulon City) mall in New Taipei's Xindian District.
Eslite Chairwoman Mercy Wu (吳旻潔) participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to formally open the 19,000 ping (62,810 square meters) store branch, which now occupies the B1-4F levels in the seven-story mall.
Speaking to reporters, Wu said the retailer's operations had turned a corner after several tough years during the COVID-19 pandemic, and that it expected to return to full-year profitability in 2024.

The Xindian branch is expected to earn NT$4-5 billion (US$124-155 million) annually, which would make it Eslite's highest-earning location and will substitute for the income lost when the company's Taipei Xinyi branch closes in December, Wu said.
Eslite also held a soft opening Thursday for its new branch at Kaohsiung's E Sky Mall, and will open a 7,500-ping location in Taichung's Xitun District in late October, Wu said.
The Eslite Xindian branch is located approximately ten minutes on foot from Dapinglin MRT station.
