Typhoon Mitag forecast to batter northern Taiwan

Typhoon Mitag is strengthening as it approaches Taiwan, carrying strong winds and torrential rains, which are expected to affect the northern and northeastern areas of the country until Tuesday, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said Monday.
