Waste soil dumped near white crane habitat; 2 policemen nabbed

Two police officers in New Taipei have been detained and held incommunicado on suspicion of taking bribes from a landfill operator engaged in illegal dumping of waste soil on a farm near the habitat of a young Siberian white crane, the Jinshan police precinct said Wednesday.
