Taipei, April 22 (CNA) Thunderstorms and heavy rains are expected next week as strong convection affects the island, the Central Weather Bureau said Sunday.
Rapid weather changes are likely islandwide, especially beginning April 25, the bureau cautioned, when the arrival of a cold front could cause greater air turbulence.
The bureau said the weather pattern, which is typical in spring, is expected to bring thunderstorms in northern, eastern and central Taiwan, as well as showers in southern areas until the weekend.
Meanwhile, warm temperatures are predicted in most areas, with day time mercury likely to range from 22-26 degrees Celsius in northern regions and 24-30 degrees in southern Taiwan.
The warm and humid weather pattern could also bring a greater chance of fog, the bureau said, especially in the outlying islands of Kinmen and Matsu.
