Consumer prices up 1.17% in October

Taiwan's consumer prices rose 1.17 percent from a year earlier in October, largely in the wake of higher tobacco and fuel prices, while more expensive eggs, fruit and dairy items also contributed to the growth, government statistics showed Tuesday.
