2018/06/21 18:06:38

Taipei, June 21 (CNA) The value of export orders placed by foreign companies with Taiwanese firms in May grew for the third consecutive month to US$41.11 billion, the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) reported Thursday.

The figure was also up 11.7 percent from a year earlier, according to the MOEA's Department of Statistics.

Although May is a slow season for telecommunication products, MOEA officials attributed the growth to good performance among traditional businesses thanks to a recovering global economy, while the high- performance computing, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and automobile electronics sectors also helped keep the total high.
