Retail sales down due to fall in Chinese visitor numbers

Revenue generated by the local retail sector fell in the first half of this year due to a fall in the number of Chinese visitors to Taiwan, who tend to make large purchases of home appliances or luxury goods while in Taiwan, according to the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).
